IV and Oral Sedation Dentistry

Sedation dentistry for the fearful

Dental phobia is a real, and often overwhelming reality for thousands of people. Negative previous dental experiences, fear of needles or drills, and severe gag reflexes are just some of the reasons people feel extreme anxiety when thinking about visiting the dentist.

If you suffer from dental phobia, have no fear! We are committed to understanding the very real nature of your fears. Not only will our staff treat you with delicacy and care, but I.V./Oral Sedation will allow you to experience dentistry in a whole new way. If you would like to request I.V. sedation, please let us know in advance so we can schedule you accordingly. You will need a driver to bring you to and pick you up from your appointment for all sedation dentistry. Please be sure to eat a light breakfast or lunch prior to your sedation dentistry appointment and remember DO NOT consume any caffeine the day of your appointment as it will interfere with the sedation medication.

For those who have a fear of needles, we use “the Wand”. This allows Dr. Loxley to deliver anesthesia without pain. “It’s non-threatening. There is no droopy lip and no numb tongue.”
